In this post, I will show you how to filter your reports in Salesforce. Follow the steps with me, then adapt them to your needs and situation. On my website, you will find related videos on Reports and Dashboards.
Now, follow these simple steps to quickly filter your reports in Salesforce.
Let's get started!
I have an existing report (All Opportunities) where I want to filter
by opportunities (which are closed ones), and
by type (being new customer).
I click on Edit:
Then click on Filters:
And add my two criteria to, the Type and the Stage:
Perfect. I can click Save and Run.
Now if I want something else, say I want either Closed Won deals or New Client, I can put filters for these conditions and then add a formal logic to my filters.
If I go back, I can put a filter logic:
This will list all Opportunities, that are either a New Customer (the Type is New Customer), or a Closed Won (the Stage is Closed Won).
Now Save & Run.
And here is my report. It is easy as it gets.
I can create a more complex logic by adding a third criteria. For example, I only want deals above a $100,000. I go to Edit, then Filters, then Remove Filter Logic.
Now and add a third criteria, as Filters: Amount, Operator: greater than, Value: 100000.
And what will happen is that if I click on Add Filter Logic, I will see that, by default, Salesforce will use the End logical operators. So, it will make True that all the criteria are True.
But in my case, I maybe just want to have the Closed Wons. That is true, anyone that have deals. I'm going to remove this logic and the conditions are that Closed Won, and that might be either New Customer, or it would be one that has deals that are greater than a million dollars. In this case, it's going to be criteria three. So, number two is my first (the Stage).
We have the numbers here, two and one or three, that is 2 AND (1 OR 3):
And again, click Save. And I have my list here. That is it.
You've made it!
