Now, follow these simple steps to quickly add Dashboard Filters in Salesforce.
Let's get started!
Currently, I'm on my Sales dashboard.
I want to create a filter where I can go between this year and last year, so I don't have to generate two dashboards. I'll click on Edit and click on add Filter.
I will select the Close Date and I will add values.
I'll put the Relative Date Type.
Now I have two filter values, the current field year (where I typed "this fiscal year") and the previous fiscal year (where I typed "last fiscal year").
Once that's done, I can click on Save. And then, if I click on current fiscal year, I'll have the display:
If I click on previous fiscal year, I will have either data or not. In this case there was no data retrieved. This could mean, that my data, my opportunities, were closed earlier than last year, so probably two years ago or that I did not have any deals last fiscal year.
If I select All, I should be able to see all my values:
I can edit the close date and add more dates if I want to, or I can keep it as-is. But it is as easy to navigate between this fiscal year, this year, sorry, and last year.
You've made it!
